In the beginning, vaping requires a bit of patience. Learning how to use your new vaporizer can be both exciting and challenging. As with any new technology, you’ll want to understand how your device works and how best to use it. Here are 6 tips to help you make the most of your first few vaping experiences.
Vaping For Beginners: 6 Hot Tips
New technology, new rules.
Don’t expect vaping to be like smoking.
Taking a pull from a vaporizer is quite different than taking a drag from a joint. Vaporizers and e-cigs don’t burn constantly, and they don’t produce smoke. You can’t inhale the same way you do when you smoke something. The technique is different. For best results, take long, slow, gentle draws on your device.
Cool down the vapor.
If your vaporizer supports it, using a bag attachment is one of the best ways to cool down your vapor. After you fill up a bag with vapor, seal it and let it sit for a few minutes (5-10) before inhaling the vapors. Your experience should be noticeably smoother.
Use lozenges to stop throat irritation.
While you vaporize, use menthol cough drops such as Halls. Dry vapor can be irritating to your throat, but the menthol in the cough drops will produce a cooling sensation that allows you to take bigger hits without experiencing any coughing. This method works especially well when you are vaporizing very dry weed.
Experiment to find your vaporizer’s sweet spot.
The majority of vaporizers can stretch out a little bit of cannabis and make it last a long time. Since every vaporizer has a different type of heating element (and because buds can be dry or wet), it is best to experiment and get a feel for what temperatures you should be using with your cannabis.
Don’t forget to save your AVB (Already Vaped Bud)
Keep a jar handy and dump your AVB into it after a session. This is a great way to get more life out of your weed, especially if you’re someone who doesn’t vape the buds to a dark brown color. The AVB can then be made into a wide range of potent cannabis products such as brownies or milkshakes. Yum.
Clean your vaporizer.
Make sure to clean your device every so often and collect the resin stuck to the insides. This resin is very potent, so a little bit of it can go a long way. You can try soaking all the glass pieces in high-proof alcohol, let the alcohol dissolve completely and put some of the remaining material on top of a fresh bowl of bud.
