While Atmos markets the Optimus 510 as an oil vaporizer, e-cigarette enthusiasts openly welcome this vape as a rightful device that comfortably fits into the growing line of e-cigs in the market. It is because besides its pen-style look, this Atmos model easily vaporizes e-juices with ease. So, it is safe to say that the Optimus does straddle between being a vape and an e-cigarette, giving you the best of both worlds.
Let’s get into the fine details of the Atmos Optimus 510 and we’ll leave it up to you for the final verdict.
Atmos Optimus 510 Design
Despite its cheaper price tag, the Optimus 510 vaporizer pen by Atmos comes in a high-quality build that’s elegantly packaged in a pen-style black kit. Like the Atmos Raw vaporizer, the Optimus 510 comes with a strong rechargeable Lithium battery for a vaping experience that lasts for three hours in between charges. But after that comes an entirely different form and function.
Instead of sporting an opaque chamber, this oil vape features a Clearomizer tank, a plain transparent glass chamber with graduated marks to help the user measure the amount of oil or e-juice inside for vaping. The rather transparent container might make the Optimus 510 a tad less discreet, but really, we can’t deny its ‘cool’ factor because it makes you feel the true essence of vaporizing.
The Atmos Optimus vaporizer heats up your essential oils and e-liquids fairly quickly with its unique heating element or atomizer, powered by a Lithium battery. And vaporizing with whatever liquid materials you have is always neat and clean because this device is tightly designed to prevent drips and leaks. Plus, you do away with the rather messier ground herbs.
For added safety and longer battery life, the Atmos Optimus features an automatic shut-off mechanism that cuts the power off after 15 seconds of continuous heating. This also prevents overheating of the ceramic element that would otherwise render the vaporizer useless. Also, a 5-click lock function prevents unintended vaping, particularly when you out the vaporizing inside the bag or pocket. To turn the vape on or off, just click the power button five times.
When you purchase the Atmos Optimus 510 vaporizer kit, you’ll get a rechargeable Lithium battery, optimus 510 cartridge, Atmos Optimus Cone, USB charger, wall charger and a user manual.
Atmos Optimus 510 Vapor Quality
First off, we love how this Atmos newcomer heats up pretty quickly in just a few seconds. And the quality of vapor it exudes is just plain impressive given its small size. Now, we tried using different e-liquid flavors, and the Optimus still performs well, making this pass for a true-bloodied e-cigarette.
Atmos Optimus – How to Use
To use the Atmos Optimus 510, fill the Clearomizer tank with your e-liquid or essential oil. Then screw the tank and the battery together. Once done, quickly press the power button five times to unlock or unlock the vape. This allows you to heat up the ceramic element by pressing the button and holding it while inhaling the vapor.
Take slower, longer draw for denser flavors. Also, to get the same density of vapor from essential oils, take longer draws — about three seconds more — as compared to vaping e-liquids.
You won’t have to worry about overheating the Optimus because pressing the button for longer than 50 seconds automatically shuts off the vaporizer. This safety feature is of course worth mentioning because we simply just can’t risk breaking our vape after just a few uses. This automatic shut-off feature also saves battery life.
After using the vaporizer, clean the tank by adding a little water into the tank and heating up the vape to loosen oil or e-juice residue. This allows fresher vapors from your liquid refills the next time you use the vape. The Optimus 510 works best for all kinds of essential oils and e-liquids. Isopropyl oil, rick simpson oil and CO2 oil work well when using this Atmos vape.
Overall, the Optimus 510 vaporizer from Atmos is a potential bestseller among those who prefer oils and e-liquids because of its excellent vapor quality, fast heating time, quality build and most importantly, a cheap price tag. And yes, the Optimus can be an e-cigarette as it does vaporize e-juices perfectly with ease. We really could not ask for more.
But if there’s any drawback with the Optimus vape, the design is perhaps less discreet because of the transparent tank. But for many, the tank offers a good view of how much of the material we have left to vape. After all, as vaporizers become more popular, bolder, funkier designs will surely come and dominate the vaping world.
